With the final international break of the year upon us now is as good a time as any to take stock on the Premier League season so far.

Here, WhoScored.com run through their 10 best rated performance of the campaign with stars from Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle all making the cut.

10. Nicolas Jackson: Chelsea vs Tottenham - 9.53 rating

Nicolas Jackson could have left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with multiple match balls given the number of chances presented to the Senegal international in Chelsea's eventual 4-1 win in north London earlier this month.

However, Jackson only managed a hat-trick at the Blues' rivals.

The 22-year-old struck with three of six shots, and completed three dribbles, as he earned a WhoScored.com rating of 9.53, that the 10th best in a Premier League match this season.

9. Erling Haaland: Manchester City vs Fulham - 9.58 rating

Erling Haaland's best rated performance of the season so far came in Manchester City's 5-1 thrashing of Fulham at the start of September.

The Norwegian goal machine bagged a hat-trick from four shots, and provided an additional assist from three key passes as Haaland returned a WhoScored.com rating of 9.58.

The 23-year-old has continued his rampant goalscoring form and heads into the international break three goals clear in the race for the Golden Boot.

8. Kieran Trippier: Newcastle vs Sheffield United - 9.58 rating

Like Haaland in City's thrashing of Fulham, Kieran Trippier's best rated display of the season saw him yield a rating of 9.58, which he returned in Newcastle's dismantling of Sheffield United.

The Magpies right-back registered a hat-trick of assists in the 8-0 win at Bramall Lane at the end of September, those coming from five key passes. In addition, Trippier made two tackles in that victory.

7. Heung-Min Son: Tottenham vs Burnley - 9.61 rating

Having made a sub-par start to the season, Heung-Min Son came alive in Tottenham's 5-2 win at Burnley back in September.

The South Korean striker shone at Turf Moor, netting his first, second and third goals for the campaign as he and Spurs benefitted from a move to the spearhead of the attack.

Son mustered five shots in total against the Clarets as he earned a WhoScored.com rating of 9.61, that far and away his best for the season.

6. Bruno Guimaraes: Newcastle vs Sheffield United - 9.72 rating

Back to Bramall Lane now and Bruno Guimaraes was named the player of the match in Newcastle's 8-0 win at Sheffield United in September.

The Magpies midfielder was directly involved in two of their eight goals in Yorkshire, netting with his only shot in the victory and providing one assist from four key passes. Guimaraes also made two tackles and one interception in a superb all-round display.

5. Solly March: Brighton vs Wolves - 9.73 rating

Solly March has only scored three league goals this season, two of which came in Brighton's 4-1 win at Wolves in August.

March netted his brace at Molineux from five shots and he worked hard off the ball in a player of the match display as the 29-year-old made four tackles, four interceptions and three clearances to return a WhoScored.com rating of 9.73.

4. Eddie Nketiah: Arsenal vs Sheffield United - 9.86 rating

The third time Sheffield United have made the cut, but we move from Bramall Lane down the Emirates for Arsenal's 5-0 win over the Blades.

Three of the five goals Eddie Nketiah has scored in the Premier League this season came from four shots against Paul Heckingbottom's side last month, a game in which the 24-year-old won two aerial duels and made one clearance.

3. Evan Ferguson: Brighton vs Newcastle - 9.96 rating

The second Brighton player on the list, Evan Ferguson was excellent in the Seagulls' 3-1 win over Newcastle at the start of September as the teenager bagged a first career hat-trick at the AMEX.

Ferguson hit the back of the net with three of four shots all the while completing two dribbles on his way to a WhoScored.com rating of 9.96, that the third best in a Premier League match so far this season.

2. Jeremy Doku: Manchester City vs Bournemouth - 10.0 rating

Manchester City put six past Bournemouth earlier this month as the champions eased to a 6-1 win over the Cherries.

Jeremy Doku was directly involved in five of those goals as the Belgian returned an impressive four assists from five key passes.

In addition, the former Rennes man netted with one three shots and chipped in with five dribbles and two tackles to land a perfect WhoScored.com 10 rating.

1. Ollie Watkins: Aston Villa vs Brighton - 10.0 rating

The first perfect WhoScored.com 10 rated display of the campaign came as Aston Villa tore Brighton to shreds at the end of September.

Unai Emery oversaw a resounding 6-1 win at Villa Park, with Ollie Watkins the star of the show.

Watkins was directly involved in four goals, beating Jason Steele with three of six shots and providing an assist with one of five key passes in what is the best rated performance in a Premier League game in the 2023/24 campaign so far.
